Judge TPP by the facts, and stop hiding them.

28 working groups made up of senior executives and lobbyist have rigged this deal. I agree with Elizabeth Warren- make the facts transparent and let's talk about them and have some oversight.

I know it must suck because they are keeping it a secret.

It's designed to benefit the people who are writing it, at the expense of everybody else, which is 99% of us. Give or take.

I mean really, if you can't trust 600 global-corporate lobbyists
and lawyers to write-up a secret trade deal, who can you trust? :shrug;

I'm sute their greedy hearts are in the right place.

who PROMISED we'd see a new kind of transparency with his administration. And now that I think of it, he wasn't lying. It's an opaque transparency.

that's why he's desperately trying to keep the details from public view.

And he claimed Citizens United was "bad." I think he flat out lied about his true opinion of Citizens United.

The “fast track” trade promotion authority bill has been introduced in the Senate. Article 1, Section 8 of the Constitution says, “The Congress shall have power to … regulate commerce with foreign nations.” But under fast track, Congress relinquishes that power and agrees to pass trade bills brought to them by the executive branch in a very short time frame with little debate and without making any changes should any problems present themselves.

13. Perfect. TPP isn’t classified military intelligence – it’s a trade agreement-Sherrod Brown

"Sherrod Brown has been leading this fight, and he points out that TPP isn’t classified military intelligence – it’s a trade agreement among 12 countries that control 40% of the world’s economy. A trade agreement that affects jobs, environmental regulations, and whether workers around the globe are treated humanely. It might even affect the new financial rules we put in place after the 2008 crisis. This trade agreement doesn’t matter to just the biggest corporations – it matters to all of us."

Thanks for link. I was happy to see it has a place to voice a NO TPP vote to legislators.

The POTUS is supposed to be such a player of that game.

How has that worked for extended NAFTA and allowing us to know why corporate administrators and lobbyists rights trump the American people?

and ask myself for whom-or for which corporation. And the president is right-the American working people have no idea what they are talking about. Because if they did, there could be no doubt going around, and this deal would be stopped.

“I just don’t think that’s reasonable,” she said.

This week, House and Senate committees signed off on bills that would give the president so-called “trade promotion authority” on the deal that would give Congress an up or down vote on it without an ability to amend it — an issue that has revealed sharp divides in the Democratic party.

Mr. Obama, speaking at an Organizing for Action summit Thursday, called the Trans-Pacific Partnership “the most progressive trade agreement in our history.”

“So when people say that this trade deal is bad for working families, they don’t know what they’re talking about,” he said.
