as he did when Bush was in the process of destroying this country.

Didn't hear too many others tell the truth back then, for whatever reason.

But Kucinich was courageous enough to stand up to them and I will remember those who did and those who did not.

Bernie's old and has weird hair.

Sometimes I think we are the shallowest people on the planet. Relentless MSM propaganda has infantilized our brains.

He would make a great VP for Bernie.

But I must mention, my first pick for VP for Bernie

is Alan Grayson.

if he lost, things would get even worse so they bought into the fear factor.

Times are different now, we've seen it all play out, and the fears are different.

The fear now is if we don't take this opportunity to get what we always wanted, it won't come again anytime soon.

The timing wasn't right for Kucinich, but I think it is now, for Bernie.

And it's going to be much more difficult to use the old 'but the other guys are worse' tactic. We know that. They will always be worse.

Now it's time to get more than 's/he's better than the other guys.

but the third-way crew was STRONG back then on DU, and immediately peppered any posts with "unelectable", "looks like an elf", "won't be taken seriously", "America is centrist, not left", "Looney Leftwing", "Fringe Candidate", the usual attack sequence. Their efforts mostly worked back then. I think this time around things may be different though, now that we've experienced first had the campaign left-govern right strategy of the New Dems.

But he dropped out before the PA primary.

This has been the problem with many of the candidates like him (e.g., Jerry Brown, who I wanted to vote for in 1992 but who like Kucinich, dropped out before the PA primary) - they don't make it to the finish line and many of us never get a chance to decide.

IMHO, there should be a "national primary" day like the designated general election day (although I know this is because of what's currently in the Constitution regarding elections), so that those of us in states that have later primaries can get some kind of say.

And he's not intimated by them. I bet he's changed a few minds, educated a few which is why he uses every microphone he can get.

He's likeable, so people don't see him as an enemy.

We were not ready for him, he was ahead of his time.

But I know for a fact he has changed minds.

Eg, the guy who started the Freedom Fries nonsense, ended up agreeing with Kucinich and joining him in his efforts to stop funding that disaster in Iraq.

Great Democrat, and I hope he'll be back working for the people again.

name' with the 'right' people.

Great Democrat, told the truth when so many were afraid to speak out.

We need dozens more like him, and if we had had more like him during the Bush era, this country would be a far better place right now.

He wasn't afraid to speak truth to power, to tell it like it is. You could see in those debate scenes that poor Wolf was breaking into a cold sweat and getting quite shaken up and ruffled under the collar. With the passage of time, we forget how radically and refreshingly liberal a candidate Kucinich really was. Maybe we just remember him as someone the tree huggers and Birkenstock wearers voted for. And we also forget what a shadow of fascist fear the country was living under with Darth Cheney and his frat boy puppet and front man running the show. Which makes it doubly amazing to see Kucinich's radically honest and fearless responses.

Regarding a potential running mate for Bernie, there are a number of excellent liberal candidates - Elizabeth Warren, Sherrod Brown, Alan Grayson, and even Raul Grijalva, to name a few. Whoever is chosen, that person must be an excellent complement for Bernie, and the two must have real chemistry and effectiveness working together as a team. And of course, you have to be realistic in factoring political considerations into the equation, so not only is the team super-galvanizing to the people, but also stands the greatest chance of winning.

By the way - how auspicious it is that this three hundredth post of mine should coincide with my 63rd birthday!
