Knew he was a softie after I heard him on Maron.

(135,425 posts)He "chose his face" as they say. Norm don't deform! He's obviously older, 51 now, but he wears it better than a lot of his contemporaries.

(25,166 posts)and the show ended abruptly and I didn't get to see the end when Dave came out on stage to thank Norm.
The show just ended with Norm seemingly filibustering and went directly into James Cordon's show already in progress.
There was no Dave. No end of Dave's show. No credits. No Worldwide Pants.
Dave's show just went into the Late Late Show.
I'm glad I was able to catch this clip - because I was able to see Norms appearance go to completion and the show end.
Did anyone else catch that?

(18,466 posts)Well, to be honest I don't recall whether they showed the end credits or logo. But the rest of it, yeah.

(21,737 posts)Mr. Letterman is not for the mawkish, and he has no truck for the sentimental, said the former Weekend Update host in his emotional send-off. If something is true its not sentimental. And I say in truth, I love you.

(3,626 posts)Dave has not had a single (R) politician on his farewell cycle, but has had Franken, Michelle O, Prez O, and Bill Clinton as guests, and many, many decidedly progressive show-biz guests. I've missed a few episodes, so I might be off a bit. But MacDonald and Adam Sandler - both wingers - and Jack Hanna who leans right, I think, are long-time friends and professional associates (and are extremely grateful and loving to Dave, and never discuss politics.) To be honest, I think this shows huge integrity on Dave's part, and more than I could do, so give the guy some credit. I'd love to see Olbermann and Williams, also friends, at least do cameos on one of the last shows. NOT O'Liely, who's been on way too many times in the past.
Thank heavens Colbert's taking over, otherwise the loss of Dave would be much harder for me, and the country.

I am beginning to feel like Norm - I will miss Dave. I watched all the 33 years. He changed TV.
