Forget the warm and fuzzy bible stories, this is the god business at work. It is -- or was -- big money for these people, and all the celebrity status and brand recognition gave them a lot of power, which translates into lots and lots of endorsements, speaking fees, and more opportunities to bilk their followers out of their coins.

The preacher / MC who introduced them said that the Duggars didn't seek out recognition - so I want to know. Was it really the money that made them do it? And in response to the poster who said that any idiot can get pregnant, or something to that effect, I don't think that all women have the amazing constitutional robustness and fortitude to last, and to hold up so well, through a whopping 19 pregnancies and healthy, normal children to boot! Heck, I've known other aspiring Christian mega-moms who lost all their teeth through constitutional calcium depletion long before they reached the stellar number of 19! How the heck did Michelle hold out so well??? She must have top notch designer genes... Too bad Jesus didn't give her perversion proof designer genes when it came to Josh...
