(10,494 posts)one Presidential candidate who is not bought off with campaign money! It's really sad that there is only one, but I couldn't have asked for a better person to be that one. Unlike Obama who promised much the same populist agenda, Bernie is for real and his voting record proves it.
To all of the doubters out there, if you believe in something because it's right, do you give up because it's hard or the odds are long? Do you settle for much less without even trying during the Primary's when you have nothing to lose and everything to gain?
Obama was with us for social issues, but not prosecuting Cheney, Bush, and Wall Street, rendition, NSA spying, letting BP off of the hook, allowing them to frack the country and resume Deepwater drilling are against all of our interests, but not those of the big companies.
I agree that Hillary is better than any Republican, but she is a far cry from where she should be. Her and Bill's friends are the richest and most powerful people in the world and she and Bill have shown that they will support their friend's agendas over the average American time and again.
We need to regain our Representative Democracy which has been lost to campaign bribes that put a corporate agenda ahead of ours. Most of our country's problems have their root in campaign bribes that alter legislation to benefit the big Donors at the expense of the rest of us.
Bernie has plans to put these issues out there. He is the only one that will/can speak about them as the rest of the candidates have unclean hands.
Go Bernie go!!!

(12,471 posts)should you decide to accept it is to tell Bernie's message to everyone who you know in Texas, and any other state that you should go to!
If we all do this Bernie shall get the nomination, and there will be a landslide in the presidential election that has never been seen before!

(10,494 posts)neighborhoods and I talk to people everyday. I have an approach to the tea partiers that seems to be effective sometimes. I explain that they don't want foreigners and George Soros to buy candidates and how both parties have been corrupted by all of that money. Throw in the propaganda from MSNBC and Fox to manipulate us and many of them bite. It plays upon their preconditioned paranoia of Soros, foreigners and MSNBC.
I tell them that Bernie is not how he is painted by the media and for them to just listen to what he wants to do. They won't agree with it all, but the most important thing to start is to get the money out of politics!
Hope everyone that reads this will try to speak with at least 1 person a day.

(12,471 posts)That Bernie has had the same message for quite some time, and that he does whatever he can to follow that message with legislation. He has been steadfast in this for more than 20 years. He has not wavered one bit on his principles, and though some may disagree with his positions, one cannot disagree with his honesty and sincerity. This is something that is sorely missing today, and needs to be part of the political agenda. When I tell this to NY Republicans and Teabaggers, they often come around.

(62,325 posts)about it and now see that it is that kind of defeatism that gets us things like the TPP and the ongoing destruction of our constitutional rights.
If everyone who sees the difference between Bernie and so far, everyone else in the race but is still falling for that scare tactic, were to ignore it, and many are this time, he would win.
The mood in the country is a lot different now than it was when the mantra was 'anyone but Bush'.
Bernie is maybe our last chance to defeat the Big Money that is destroying this country.
I like long shots anyhow, if they win, the payoff is so much better.
So, I'm betting on Bernie this time and paying no attention to the 'he can't win' nonsense, because whether he can or not, is up to us.

(10,494 posts)He is the only one in the race not bought off. It's why I wonder why Dems would support Hillary over Bernie.
