Related: About this forumThis shows how the Corporate Media will fight back against attacks on the one percent
This 20 / 20 piece is just one example of the kind of propaganda attacks that the corporate media will likely wage against critics of the one percent as the popularity of criticism against the one percent gets bigger.

(8,175 posts)but what is not being said is that these "causes" should not need to be funded by the few wealthy at the top, they should be funded by the middle class using their services...but of course they can't afford to.

(50,983 posts)She also said Rush Limbaugh is a fascinating man. I think she has a thing for for men with lots of money.
The Kochs seem to think it's perfectly fine that they have an undue influence on the legislative priorities of the nation just because they have more money. That really isn't libertarianism. In my opinion.

Baba Wawa (and she hates that) sure loves her some Republican men.

(50,983 posts)From way back. I suspect. She had a gotcha moment with George McGovern leading up to the election.

(45,251 posts)I once posted on another board that she was a Republican and I got flack from both Republican and Democratic posters.
Years later, I saw an episode of The View in which Walters said that she had never said in public how she voted because that was how journalists were trained back when she got trained. A while after that, I saw an episode of The View in which Elizabeth Hasselbeck said she was not the only Republican on the panel, but we'd never know who it was. I'm guessing she was referring to Barbara.

(50,983 posts)there didn't appear to be a distinct gotcha moment.
Do you think Barbara had contempt for candidate McGovern in that clip? If you weren't pro Vietnam War in those days the establishment put out some bad vibes.

40 sec part from Barbara wawa is worse, since she should be the interviewer and not a total kiss ass.

(2,760 posts)I have a BIL who is almost a clone of a cross between David Koch and Dick Cheney. I just spent several months following my sister's death from ALS trying to help the family go through and distribute her personal things. Every day was a real trial as I faced a despicable lack of respect for me due to my progressive stance. I know from extended personal experience what these people are like.

Koch industries ship Alberta bitumen to the US, refine it, sell on the market...make billions while screwing the Canadians and Americans through leaky pipelines, virtually unregulated refineries, and environment destruction...

More propaganda to gain support and humanize an asshole!

(28,903 posts)Notice the focus on giving is to people who really need help not all the places rich folks gather: http://www.georgesoros.com/faqs/entry/georgesorosphilanthropyisunprecedented/
If you look at David Koch's giving, it's all the places mostly wealthy people go although he does give a SHIT load to cancer research. You know why? He thought he was dying of cancer.
