Representative Debbie Wasserman-Schultz, the Chair of the Democratic National Committee, has apparently not decided which side of the fence she falls on with regards to the Iran nuclear agreement, but according to Alternet, the chairwoman of the Democratic Party blocked a resolution at the meeting to support the deal.

Is there any reason to keep her in her current position?
I mean, maybe if her leadership or strategy gave us a democratic majority in both house and senate. Nope.

If she's not gone... we really don't have much of a "Party" anymore.

(469 posts)... that Jews do not support the Iran deal. While most Israeli Jews do oppose the deal (mostly due to constant fear-mongering by Bibi & Ha-Aretz), 56% of Jewish Americans favor it - myself included.
Between this nonsense, the limited number of DNC debates and the prohibition on participation in non-DNC sponsored debates, I think the DNC needs a new chairperson - PRONTO!

Is she that afraid that the republicans are going to use this in the elections-----------------they don't have an alternative-------------they don't like our allies (excluding Russia / China) which were at the same table

Does anybody believe Israel had nothing to do with this? At the risk of sounding anti-semitic, it's a rare Jewish politician that I fully trust not to put Israel's interests ahead of America's. (OK- The MIC is on Israel's side on this one, so that could have also been a factor) The problem is you don't really know which ones (well- you do if they're Republican) will put America first and which ones will have a direct incoming line from Bibi's office until after they're elected.
DWS has now cemented herself on the list of the ones I don't trust.

(32,723 posts)Let's see if Hillary uses the line, "All options are on the table" when it comes to Iran.
Meanwhile, the Republicans are all arguing over which one will nuke Iran first.
"I'll do it on DAY ONE!!!"
"Oh yeah? I'll order the attack in my first HOUR."
"You wimps! I'll order the attack right after I'm sworn in."
Trump, "Oh yeah? Well my legal team - which is the greatest in the world by the way, great guys, went to Stanford. Great college - tells me I can order it before I'm sworn into office. So THERE!"

(6,699 posts)It is absolutely hypocritical that she would be the chair to the DNC. This Israeli-pawn is worthless, despite this latest insult to the party and the President.
We could be doing so much more constructive work for the Democratic Party, and the progressive movement without this dino holding the reigns to the future of the left.

(55 posts)Its time we considered any politician with dual U.S./Israeli citizenship (or is that Israeli/U.S. citizenship) suspect when there is a possible conflict of interest between the U.S. and Israel.

JStreet supports the Iran deal!! Enough said, except that DWS is a person without objectivity.

(3,544 posts)useless to the democrats since her hiring. Remember the 2014 election? She did NOTHING to get the party going. We lost big time. Now this? Almost looks like she's working for the GOP. (hint hint)
I said it back then. I'll say it now. She's got to go.

(166 posts)I looked forward to Wasserman-Schultz's term as head of the DNC.
Boy, was I wrong. Wasserman-Schultz has shown no understanding of political strategy, political leadership or political rhetoric. She's been a disaster for the Democrats up and down the ticket.
Any Democrat not supporting the president's Iran agreement is unfit to lead the party (this goes for Schumer in the Senate as well).
She's gotta go.
