In response to these DU threads:

Looks like Tony Blair doesn't think much of Bernie Sanders either

Tony Blair warns against moving left as Jeremy Corbyn leads poll

Here's the trailer of a movie from a few years back that was a brutal takedown of the Blair regime.

Based on Robert Harris' book The Ghost it has Pierce Brosnan playing a thinly veiled Tony Blair (Adam Lang) character. DVD it or stream it.

I don't see progress in Halliburton or Academi, but maybe I don't get the gist of your post, jom. Mc Mike Sep 2015 #6

that Polansky made a movie about Blair getting pursued for extradition in an international criminal case, for supporting l'il bush's CIA war, and before the movie was released, RP gets pursued for extradition in an international criminal case.

It's icing on the cake that l'il bush's Iraq War profiteer buddies at Halliburton and Blackwater both were under investigations for Child Prostitution.

There are all sorts of echoes of current events for political junkies.

That said, although Brosnan's character is obviously patterned after Blair in many respects, I think there's more than a little Bill and Hillary in the relationship between Adam and Ruth -- just as Charles Foster Kane was primarily based on William Randolph Hearst, but had more than a little Harold Fowler McCormick (chairman of the board of International Harvester) in him (McCormick was the man who tried to buy fame for his no-talent opera singer wife.)

Other tantalizing allusions include

  • Halliburtion
  • PNAC
  • David Kelly
  • Carlyle Group and even
  • Cindy Sheehan (although dramatically distorted)
