Biden's Labor Day Speech Rallies Crowd - He Praises Bernie Sanders... 'Doing A Hell of a Job!'
Vice President Joe Biden, wearing a USW United Steelworkers union hat, spoke to hundreds of union members of various organizations in the crowd, telling them that the widening gap between the wealthiest Americans and poorest Americans was hurting the country.
Somethings wrong, folks, he said as the crowd cheered. And let me tell you something, man. The tax code is not fair.
Biden praised the value of union labor and it's immense contribution to the country.
You built the middle class, he said. Thats not an exaggeration. And as youve declined, the middle class has declined. Build labor -- we build America. Build labor -- we build the middle class.
As noted, Mr. Biden also commented on the increasing gap between the richest and poorest in this country.
The wealthy arent paying their fair share. We used to be one America, Vice President Biden said.
Today, 1 percent of Americans own 40 percent of all the wealth in America." Sounding a bit like a man on a mission to change the status quo, he offered up the reason for the wide gap of inequality.
