It's a very touching video, but I'm confused.

The little girl, who loves her father deeply, is guilt-ridden because her father is desperately trying to live a lie in order to protect her.

That lie involves pretending to be a successful businessman while in fact he's barely scraping by doing menial temp jobs. And because he's barely scraping by, he exhausts himself working more hours or more physically challenging jobs than he should. He goes hungry because there isn't enough food for both of them to eat.

And MetLife wants him to buy insurance?

Now I suppose it's possible they're suggesting he -- and others like him -- come work for MetLife. If you click on the link at the end of the ad, it takes you to their home page which, among other things, includes a link to "Careers." But for the most part, it's a page about buying insurance.
