I'm aghast. This may be in the poorest taste of anything I've ever seen.

KUSA - On the 14th anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks, a group of cheerleader in Texas performed a routine that was accompanied by the sound of news reports from 2001.

The video, from a Lumberton High School rally, has been viewed 19 million times on Facebook.

It includes audio from George W. Bush as well as patriotic songs. The video has been met with mixed emotions, some saying it was done in poor taste.

The cheerleaders though are terrible. And the Beyonce version of the song is much better. I think you have to realize it's Texas, a bastion of stupidity and hate.

Unless you attack their group
Then there's hell to pay
I agree with you (on both counts)
thought the thing was in poor taste
I'm not blaming the girls, but I would like to know who the cheerleader coach is
I blame that adult

But I wasn't in NYC or DC at the time, and I didn't lose a family member either.

People aren't going to be ready for that kind of stuff yet.

Maybe in 20 years girls.

I did not see how the performance was really patriotic. They mainly did a regular cheer routine with a salute, a flag raising, and a spelling of USA thrown into the performance. Someone in leadership at that school should have prevented that performance. There were many better ways to remember 9/11 and salute first responders and military members.

If they wanted to use President Bush's speech and Lee Greenwood's song they would have done better by just lining up and saluting or putting their hand across their chest while first responders and military members were lead into the gym. Other than that the students in the gym could have stood silently while President Bush's speech and Lee Greenwood's song played. Finally, they could have had someone play taps while the students stand silently.

. . . for Americans to reduce it to trite sentimentality? Sorry to say it, but think again!

Didn't see one girl of color in that squad....oh yeah this was in Texas! Not surprised...probably didn't accept those that tried out for the squad if they were of color!
