Why No One in the GOP Can Touch Trump - WSJ Interview
You can see in the interview how showing no fear and exhibiting a sense of optimism has put Trump at complete odds with the rest of his clown car of GOP candidates. He doesn't explain details. He doesn't get into policy. He's trying to be 'a good guy' who 'loves the country' and is 'optimistic we can make it great again'. That's about it.
In the sound-bite world of brief ads that jump ahead of YouTube videos, fast pop up messages over webpages, and news cycles that now run in the tens-of-minutes instead of hours or days, that short, simple and easy to digest message is probably in keeping in line with what the IQ level of the majority of GOP voters can handle. Republicans have a lot of pent up anger. They are mad. They want a happy warrior to take care of business. In Trump, they seem to have found it.
After watching Ben Carson in a recent interview and then watching Trump, I can see how this temporary blip in the polls for Carson will not last. His sleepy, slurred speech narrative makes him an awkward sedative for the angry base who want a dynamic, pushy 'believer in America'. We'll see what happens in the CNN debate, but I continue to think that Trump is going to handily knock the Koch 'team GOP' to the curb.... and I predict the only thing that is going to be a challenge to him this time around will be Carly Fiorina.
Will be interesting to see -- apologies for the Trump video, but I do think understanding what is happening in the GOP primary is important ahead of the main election.
