Colbert to Trump: You Sound a Lot Like My ‘Over-the-Top Conservative’ Character

Near the end of the interview, (at 12:00 in) Colbert told Trump he used to play an “over-the-top conservative character, not as long as you did,” and then Colbert played a game called “Trump or Colbert.” Stephen read off a series of quotes and Trump had to guess whether it was Colbert or Trump who said them. Ironically, there was not that big a difference between those by Trump and those by Colbert's Comedy Central character. He even throws in a curve ball quote by Charles Manson.

I keep telling my husband that I think he may be trying to pull off the biggest political hoax in history. Everything about his campaign is just too ridiculous, and the crazies are eating it up. If you look back at Trump 10 or 12 years ago, he actually sounded much more normal.

I think the world is his stage right now and he's putting on a helluva show--though I am one of the few that does not enjoy watching.

But, then I take into consideration Trump's Ego.
I think it's a 50/50 chance that he'll drop out once he starts getting less media coverage as his numbers tank.

Either he bows out because his numbers are dropping, and goes down in history as a failed candidate, or he claims success to one of the biggest hoaxes in history, which everyone, from the news media, to his batshit-crazy followers, to his opponents, and average-everyday Americans fell for it, hook, line, and sinker.

He can say he did it to prove how corrupt our political system is, or the media, or how gullible people have become, or something to that effect. Then he goes out--in his view--a success.

Don't get me wrong, I know it's far-fetched and a little tinfoil-hat-ish, but I can't discount the possibility completely until I see how it all plays out.

In the late 80s he was spewing the same vile BS about America being weak & the pawn not of China but of Japan & how our economy was going to collapse because we could not compete with the Japanese.

I honestly think he a wealthy asshole got very upset when Hillary lost to a black guy then the wealthy racist ASSHOLE came out & now the more the media allows him to get away with the worse his EGO gets!

It really is that simple!

When he handed him the "meatball" of was Obama born in the U.S. And Trump said I don't talk about that now Colbert should have said "because you were wrong about Obama" and see what would happen. Boo Steven!
