Let’s Be Honest: If Any Republican Wins In 2016, We’re Screwed

For the last week, I’ve been thinking about what I saw in the Republican debates. I’ve read analyses from every possible source, and I think what bothers me the most is that no one is saying the painfully obvious: If any one of those people that we saw on the stage last Wednesday night wins the presidency, then we, as a country, are completely screwed.

I’m incredibly concerned about the fact that not one single Republican that took the stage that night was able to offer a single, cohesive, coherent policy plan. ON ANY ISSUE. The only thing that came close were their insane ideas to build a wall along the Southern border and to bomb the Middle East into oblivion. But those are the same backwards ideas that the Republican Party has been offering up for 35 years.

First time in 70 years that the Democratic Party wins 3 in a row. That should be shouted from the rooftops. We usually are two and done. We need to emphasize we are not done.

and haven't had since about 2008. When the war went to shit and the economy collapsed, the full idiocy of their policies became readily apparent, and they've had nothing since.

...it will inspire a humongous voter turnout--primarily from younger voters. I either saw or read here somewhere the consensus was that's what would happen if Bernie gets nomination--generating a high level of interest through social media--which is where a good chunk of younger voters are. I, along with many on DU believe Bernie is energizing new voters. That's good news. I read or heard this few days ago here. It seems clear and makes sense to me. I assume this would also include changes in state houses too. Gawd knows we need several state legislature wins to make the effort worthwhile.

And it could happen. I attended my first Bernie strategy meeting tonight (about 40-50 people in attendance) and getting younger voters to the polls will be a big part of the process. Additionally, it appears I will be part of registering new voters after I finish training this Friday. So I would hold off on any fears of another repuke administration coming to power. If the voter turnout is big, repukes will become extinct. And I encourage others here to train for registering voters. Our work for regaining our democracy starts now. I'm ready to get to work and get my hands dirty. Are you?
