Catholic Conservative Climate Denier Goes Ballistic and Catholic Climate Event

John Boehner isn’t the only one to crack under the pressure.

Video description:

It took a lot of courage to do this, please help get this message out there. More of us need to start doing this.

What I’m gleaning, this is video from a “Catholic Climate Covenant’ meeting, I guess in Southern Cal?
Fireworks erupt at 11:50 in. Climate denier “wants his church back”. “Heresy” etc.

Crowd listens for a while. Man grows dark and threatening.

Crowd starts praying out loud, in unison.

Man lead away. Uniformed people involved.

But, you do it under the guise of "official religion" and it's supposed to make sense. I'm sure there were Romans screaming about the decline of their pagan gods 2000+ years ago much like this man. Will humans remain superstitious or will we move ahead with the scientific method?

We are witnessing a fight over an old belief system that sustains billions of people. Will it remain triumphant?

They are building a Frankenstein's monster that will literally turn on their network, but in the meantime, they sell a few more boxes of cereal, a lint remover and some great animal print snuggies.

As a friend of mine used say in high school "some people will have to be dragged, kicking and screaming, into the 19th century".

This gave me a lot of hope that there are still plenty of rational people, who are religious. The moment they started the lord's prayer ...I knew he was done for. Pope Francis is so freaking awesome and he has helped his church expose the wolves in sheep's clothing among the Catholics.

His livelihood depends on society maintaining the status quo on fossil fuel use. You cannot reason with anyone that depends on the fossil fuel industry for their living. I no longer talk with the guy. Can't do it.

Maybe the hate and nonsense of organized religion will die out with the generations.

B.T.W., I had a revelation this afternoon. Multiple gods does make more sense than one god. Multiple gods explains the different experiences we have on Earth.

...will need to have a shower to wash the spittle off. He was the textbook definition of deranged, and he also seems dangerous IMO. His tirade was so over the top and incoherent, it was impossible to even understand except I think I heard the word "blasphemy". I guess he thinks that (a) he himself is a good Catholic but (b) the Pope is a blasphemer. Some people are too dumb to even grasp the concept of "cognitive dissonance".

The leader was brilliant to have the audience stand and join him in prayer. Drowned the guy out with a calm, unified voice. Very well done on their part!

that behavior is waay too like a rightwing "Christian" . and he "wants his church back" SPARE ME. Brilliant response on their part- deprives him of an audience and changes the subject.
