Ben Carson Laughs About Throwing Rocks at Cars, Before Cops 'Would Shoot You' -- "Everybody Did It"

Not only does this Republican idiot act as though whatever juvenile crimes he committed as a youngster were the same thing EVERYONE ELSE did - ie. throwing rocks at cars and getting elderly people to chase after them (uh, I didn't do this, did you?).

He then goes on to let go one of those slips that you can hear a mile away. One of those uh-oh slips that voters in the GOP are just going to LOVE to sink their brains into....

He notes that this all happened '...back in the days before (the Police) would shoot you'.

Oops - suddenly the actual truth leaks out, and he spins into cover-my-ass mode with a quick nervous laugh and an "I'm just kidding, you know they wouldn't do that" - (more nervous laughter)

A juvenile delinquent who has no remorse for damaging countless cars & personal property, and then speaks of the enjoyment he got taunting elderly owners and police after committing the acts.

Hmmm.. very 'Presidential' indeed

He needs to keep talking.

He has the brain surgeon mind and the Fox News mind. I could see him become a front runner for the GOP.

He can hold opposite views in his head and he appears to be nice. And he is a black person agreeing with the right.

I am watching him.

It is possible that Dr. Ben Carson's brain surgeon mind is not as great as some think. Neither the television media nor Ben Carson talks about his mistakes and lawsuits. Another person in this discussion linked to an article that discussed Carson's lawsuits. He worked as a surgeon for about 32 years, performed 400 surgeries a year, and was only officially sued seven times. However, very little is said about those lawsuits. Would people's view of him change if they knew about the lawsuits?

In addition, it is possible that Carson has been involved in more lawsuits without his named being mentioned because on occasion John Hopkins gets sued even if a doctor may have made a mistake. The article seems to say that in some instances Carson could have been the doctor doing the surgery, but the hospital was sued instead of Carson.

This is just psychopathic, especially from a physician.

Young people do stupid things, but for someone of his age and education, to look back as fond memories at something that should now cause him profound embarrassment and regret, demonstrates a total lack of empathy and a certain disengagement from reality. He doesn't seem to understan WHY these elderly people were angry, that many probably had limited resources and could not afford to get their cars fixed (insurances have deductibles and elderly often have fixed incomes), not to mention the fear of their own fragile mortality and that of their loved ones. It is as if he views life as some sort of "sitcom," with the stereotyped "angry old man" shaking his cane at the mischievous young "scamps," and the Keystone-like doughnut-eating cops giving chase.

Even if he DID have no regrets for the actions of his youth, why on earth would he bring such a thing up in a political campaign, in a public forum? This shows a complete lack of common sense.

All this adds to the evidence - along with his ridiculous statements about Black people - that Dr. Carson has undergone some sort of mental breakdown and honestly need professional help.

I agree with everything you've written, possibly excepting your last paragraph. I don't get the sense he's experienced any kind of mental breakdown, personally. But I absolutely agree that the way he recounted this tale of his childhood suggests something is out-of-whack upstairs.

grew up, and threw rocks at cars. Those were never a game we had, nor did we run from the cops cause they were busy elsewhere. We didn't seem to need cop cars patrolling up and down our streets! Our streets were peaceful places where we could lay in the grass on a sunny day with friends and play YUGIOH... together!

24. No Common Sense?
Thu Oct 1, 2015, 11:24 PM
Oct 2015

I have heard people say that some people are really smart, but have no common sense. This video makes me think Dr. Ben Carson is one of those people. It seems that someone with common sense would know that a story like that should not be told and it should definitely not be told while laughing. Carson did not seem to understand that his actions were not funny and things he should be at least slightly ashamed of having done.

The only thing that makes Carson's story okay is if the video was stopped and taken out of context. Could Carson have been using that story as part of a redemption story. Was he trying to show that when he was young he behaved inappropriately, but as he aged he realized the error of his ways and changed? Was he trying to show that if he had not changed his life he would not have become a successful person?

That reminds me of the anti-abortion activist who admitted to having sex with mules.

COLMES: "You had sex with animals?"

HORSLEY: "Absolutely. I was a fool. When you grow up on a farm in Georgia, your first girlfriend is a mule."

COLMES: "I'm not so sure that that is so."

HORSLEY: "You didn't grow up on a farm in Georgia, did you?"

COLMES: "Are you suggesting that everybody who grows up on a farm in Georgia has a mule as a girlfriend?"

HORSLEY: It has historically been the case. You people are so far removed from the reality...Welcome to domestic life on the farm...If it's warm and it's damp and it vibrates, you might in fact have sex with it."
