It started as an end of times cult. Here are some of the beliefs-- (from catholic.com, actually quite an in depth article)
"They also hold many false and strange doctrines. Among these are the following: (a) the Catholic Church is the Whore of Babylon; (b) the pope is the Antichrist; (c) in the last days, Sunday worship will be "the mark of the beast"; (d) there is a future millennium in which the devil will roam the earth while Christians are with Christ in heaven; (e) the soul sleeps between death and resurrection; and (f) on the last day, after a limited period of punishment in hell, the wicked will be annihilated and cease to exist rather than be eternally damned."

So, you wonder why Dr. Carson is the way he is? Do you remember David Koresh? Yep, a Seventh Day Adventist. Now I can understand why Dr. Carson believes so many conspiracy theories. Just read about his church and your eyes will be opened. It's all making sense--well nonsense and what amazes me is that SDA believers are seriously frowned on by most Protestant religions.

Why does God only speak to idiots?

Actually, I tend to believe like the Greeks and Romans. There are a bunch of Gods sitting up there playing with us and laughing at all of us mortals. Nothing else makes sense... other than there being no God.

No God? Lord help us if we have to be personally accountable for our own actions.

Maybe God just wants you to ruin the good reputation of Brain Surgeons.
I think He prefers Rocket Scientists. Enough of these Igor types that believe
in imaginary friends and not global climate change. Give me a PHD w/ a Nobel
prize any day of the week and twice on saturday. (7th day Adv s worship on sat.)
