how he would like to be remembered? Without missing a beat the President said that the "Mount Rushmore thing would be nice, but there is limited space."

Could you imagaine the howl that would come from the far right if the where to see that. Again

Back in the 90's, before I was at all politically active, I kept running into people who had no reaction when a Seinfeld reference was made. Seinfeld was everywhere and omnipresent in casual discourse. I found that it was almost a badge of honor for conservatives to have never seen an episode and to proclaim it. Throwing a Seinfeld line into a group turned out to be a great detector of conservatives.

Satire and irony as well. As you said it simply doesn't seem to register with them.

I have been watching this new series and like it better when he's just himself talking to other comedians.

I had really been looking forward to watching it.

The part where both of them try to get the guard to open the gate was pretty funny, especially the second time. President Obama asked the guard and afterward he said "I knew that wouldn't work." Then Seinfeld replied to him "you didn't sell it."
