7. Best Speech Ever

I have heard and read many powerful speeches by progressive politicians in the last 50 years on various economic topics. From Ron Dellums, Bella Abzug, Shirley Chisum, Maxine Waters, Paul Wellstone, Mario Coumo, Jerry Brown, Hubert Humphrey, Jesse Jackson, John Edwards, and recently from Elizabeth Warren.

But I have never heard a better political speech than this one by Bernie Sanders. I believe FDR was the last elected politician to really lay it out, complete with facts and figures, why the power of Wall Street must be broken up and controlled by the government. FDR's policies led to the FDIC, the Glass-Steagall Act and many other laws that worked until they were dismantled. It's time to put the hammer down on the 1%.
