but have plenty of Oregonian kin. Salem's capital building is the most inviting I have ever been. Just lovely a place.

Here's a protest idea, march in shackles two-by-two in knee-deep snow a few hundred miles to bring awareness to the theft of this land by the Anglos and to help return the land to its rightful owners, the surviving Native Americans. There isn't enough federal land in the USA to satisfy the injustice they endured, but we will someday either have to reconcile the injustice or suffer the infamy along with our ancestors for eternity after our opportunity has passed. Then, Ammon Bundy, you and your gaggle will have done something positive for the people whose land was stolen. Currently, your balance is negative, with one redeeming merit, you have called attention to who really owns this land--really great job on picking the ideal place to accomplish that (or as a Mormon might say, the Lord works in mysterious ways).

What's next? Yosemite? Yellowstone? Public lands are treasures. And when you think of them that way, for what they are, it makes it pretty clear what the militants are.

plus all the land where you can't run cows anyway.

Kidding about the cows. Cows rights should not take precedence over Natives! Give back all that is just, cows be damned.
