As the armed occupation of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge in Oregon reaches its sixth day, Harney County Sheriff Dave Ward and Ammon Bundy, leader of the armed protestors, hold a surprise meeting in a remote wilderness area.

The #BundyBunch was spotted this morning, foraging for snacks.

ice cream for dessert.

I havent drank beer in so many years, is Heineken still popular?

Anyway, while they were having their nice meeting, somewhere a Black 20 something male is being beaten near to death by police for jaywalking.

4. RU Kidding. Oregon is the capitol of micro-brew. Bend has a great brewery.

Seriously, there are very sharp legal minds working on one side of this issue as this video shows.
There are also likely very serious law enforcement officers building a much larger case that what we see. [center]

Do we want to file indictments for breaking into the snacks, or ....?

And tell them that actually you agree with them and some good will come from this.
No telling them they are in violation of the law and will be arrested and they should turn themselves in...none of that harsh talk.

Imagine the difference if some Native Americans occupied federal land.
But that would be different...wealthy ranchers would not benefit from that.

8. That's what they said in Nevada.

That the County Sheriff is the only government authority they recognize. Apparently now their answer is that the County Sheriff is the only government authority that they recognize...UNLESS they disagree with what he tells them to do.

That doesn't surprise me, though. Conservatives, and especially whacko-bird conservatives have perfected cognitive dissonance and rationalization to a science. They're masters of it, and see no contradictions whatsoever.

But now I can see where the gun rights crazies get their enthusiasm. The message of this, and the Nevada standoff is clear: If you're heavily armed, you can do whatever you want. And NOBODY, not even those with the authority of the law, can tell you what to do. You get to do what you want, and there are no consequences, as long as you're heavily armed.

Beautifully stated and right to the point! As a former English teacher who spent a lot of time trying to develop critical thinking in students, I applaud you. Of course, critical thinking is the work of the devil to many 'Muricans like the Bundys and Co.
