Welfare Hypocrisy: Red States Are The Real Freeloaders

For years the Republican Party has been telling us that the welfare system in America is helping to make people lazy and making them too dependent on the federal government. If this is true, then a new report has some horrible news to deliver to Republicans....

My father in law, a retired commercial pilot, drove a school bus to keep busy.

Their bus system was 100% funded by federal funds. Yet he would drive around and pick up kids in poverty stricken areas of Southern Illinos with Romney yards signs all over the place.

Federal rural property loans.
state and federally subsidized schools and lunch programs.
Bridges and roads they would never be able to build without federal and state funds.

But they are self sufficient country folk.mand they will tell you every chance they get.

about the people they represent.

I.e., in fact, a certain part of the population will indeed become lazy and dependent in a way that they otherwise would not because other are willing to help them. Could it be that liberal solutions fail these people as much as conservative solutions fail others?

Maybe, even with well considered, creative and meaningful liberal solutions, one size still does not fit all.

Surely you jest.

There are a dozen reasons these people originally needed help and none of those had anything to do with liberal policies.
