It doesn't matter. It never mattered. Fox viewers are fixed. We can laugh at them and argue with them, but I don't think even Bill Nye, the science guy who taught their children on tv in the 90s makes a difference. They are solid, fixed and brainwashed. The only hope is that the white viewers who look like me, die. So I won't see it, because I will die too.

4. The Fox audience is a perfect place to study this psychological phenomenon...

Cognitive dissonance was first investigated by Leon Festinger, arising out of a participant observation study of a cult which believed that the earth was going to be destroyed by a flood, and what happened to its members — particularly the really committed ones who had given up their homes and jobs to work for the cult — when the flood did not happen.

While fringe members were more inclined to recognize that they had made fools of themselves and to "put it down to experience", committed members were more likely to re-interpret the evidence to show that they were right all along (the earth was not destroyed because of the faithfulness of the cult members).

6. Fox is pure, unadulterated, corporate propaganda.

It's viewers are victims of that propaganda. They are either less educated, or want to believe that the scapegoats Fox blames for our problems are the real culprits. They may be racists so they would rather choose to believe that it is minorities or immigrants causing their problems rather than the system set up by TPTB to screw them over.

The propaganda keeps them angry and afraid so that they will refuse to believe or even listen to other facts or viewpoints that don't completely jive with their worldview. In effect, they are inoculated against the truth! They can see and hear confirmation of that propaganda through other propaganda outlets which is all of the confirmation they need.

It is up to us to try to get them exposed to the truth, that they have been victims of displaced anger. I have found that they all believe that government is corrupt, so I start there. Then I explain how TPTB have been manipulating "us" while ripping us off and blaming others. Some see it, many still do not, at least not after going back and thinking about it some more.
