A judge has granted full custody of Bill OReillys children to his ex-wife at the request of the children. I guess they were tired of hearing their father call their mother names and physically abuse her. So much for the family values Fox News pundit.
Ring of Fires Farron Cousins discusses this.

(12,754 posts)don't believe everything you hear or read about custody battles.
I used to work in family law. Each parent presents themselves as a saint and the other party as the devil incarnate.
One of the reasons is that child support is awarded proportionate to the amount of time that each parent has custody.
I remember one case where the mother was presenting herself as Mother of the Year and the father as a monster. She wanted full custody. The father, who seemed like a nice guy, came in with printouts of her MySpace page where she bragged about how many cocks she sucked and how many pills she did last weekend.
From the other side, there are cases where the father initially doesn't want custody, because he wants to be free to play around. Then, he finds out that he has to pay 100 percent of the child support and he wants full custody -- even though he's living with two buddies and doesn't have any way to take care of the kids while he works.
So, it works both ways.

I have a friend whose kid would say incredibly hurtful things about him because the kid wanted to live with my friend's estranged (crazy) partner who would let the kid do whatever he wanted, paid no attention to him, and encouraged his bad habits.
I'm not saying that's the case here -- merely that you have to be careful about taking what anyone claims in these cases as absolute gospel truth.
