Is MSNBC DEAD?

The Young Turks:
Published on Feb 29, 2016

MSNBC has decided to part ways with hose Melissa Harris-Perry after weeks of tension. There was a lot of disagreement over what she could and couldn’t cover on her show. Cenk Uygur and Ana Kasparian, hosts of the The Young Turks, break it down. Tell us what you think in the comment section below.

"Two days after an email became public in which Ms. Harris-Perry said she felt “worthless” to NBC News executives, and after two weeks of her show being pre-empted so that the network could cover other news, an MSNBC spokesman on Sunday confirmed that the network and Ms. Harris-Perry were “parting ways.”

Ms. Harris-Perry said in an email on Sunday that she was not in direct communication with anyone at the network but that “terms of severance, not reconciliation” were still being negotiated.

Ms. Harris-Perry also posted a message on Twitter that said, “Inviting diverse new voices to table was a privilege. Grateful for years of support & criticism.”

Even by the occasionally dramatic standards of television news, this was an unusually messy breakup. In an interview with The New York Times on Friday, Ms. Harris-Perry said that she was frustrated that MSNBC had effectively sidelined her.”*

It used to be my default channel (always on even if I was paying attention to something else).

Now, it's never on, not even for Rachael or Lawrence.

Not only that but I am considering terminating my Comcast account (I will miss some HBO shows... but I can stream them online).

I tried watching Rachel and/or Lawrence about three weeks ago and it was all Trump all day...and now, a brief word from the Democrats and back to the Rpublic0ns. Yep MSNBC is toast.

It was a "liberal" bastion in the monotonous wasteland of corporate news (along with the now-defunct Current). I used to have it on all the time. Now I pop in to see what Rachel has to say -- after her long entry monologue. The rest of it pretty much sucks.

and Phil Donahue and more.

Rachel show became milquetoast after they threw Keith out. I can't be bothered. Often, she just repeats herself over and over again.

Oh, look at this ...
