It really has no place (just "Do You believe..." phrasing, asked baldly, at least) in political debate. We know EVERY Republican candidate who isn't already Bible thumping, Trump for sure, will give a big "Yes!" Any one who believes them... well... I noticed Hillary turned a similar question into "Do do you pray?" and got by with it. Actually good for both candidates!

However, religious questions like this are inappropriate at political debates IMO.
