I have so much respect for activist & true "Progressive" Maajid Nawaz...Just finished "Islam and the Future of Tolerance: A Dialogue" by Sam Harris & Maajid Nawaz. I highly recommend it especially to those who claim true Liberals like Sam Harris are racist Islamiphobes.

3. Sorry, but I don't take anybody who uses the term "regressive left" seriously.

And this argument that the people who call bigots on their shit are the reason that guys like Harris get lumped in with the far right on Islam-related issues is farcical. He's lumped in with them because his positions on those particular issues are the same.

Dude completely lost me after he claimed that he'd vote for Ben Carson over Chomsky.

BTW I think that Ben Carson's foray into politics in recent years has completely laid waste to the notion that a person who is accomplished in a medical field related to neurology should necessarily have all of his opinion on currents events taken seriously as a matter of courtesy.

"PC Regressive Left" is a right-wing meme, used by those that hate learning about history and brown people.

7. Your chronology is off.

"Regressive Left" was made up by Liberals who saw attacks on free speech coming from the left and identified the group doing it. Censoring speech is literally a regression from the basic Liberal value of freedom of speech. Hence the origin of the term Regressive. The right wingers took up the term because using it makes themselves look smarter than they are. Before that right wingers just lumped the Regressives in with Progressives.
