(4,113 posts)and the bank bailout, unlike the other members of congress from this part of Ohio - Bob Latta and Jim Jordan.
Latta's just running off the coattails of his old man who was also a worthless political hack when he represented NW Ohio. I remember two things about Delbert - When I was in high school, he addressed an assembly and spent the whole time ripping Democrats for holding offices because of their name. Funny thing - about 12 years later he tried the same when he retired and thought his son had a clear shot holding his congressional seat for another generation, but Paul Gillmor ran for the seat, too and beat Bob out. It wasn't until Gillmor died in office before Latta got another chance and was elected to Congress. The other turn-off I had with Delbert was during the Watergate hearings. At the end, he still stood up for Nixon. And he was about the only one who did. If it was a Democrat getting grilled in the hearings, Delbert would have been the first one to throw him under the bus.
Jordan is a teabagging hypocrite. He takes his dog-and-pony show everywhere and rips the government and government spending, except when it comes to the military. In that case, there's never enough money to spend for his hallowed military. It's funny that he has so much contempt for government, but he has had no problem running for government jobs and living off the taxpayers' dime for his entire adult life. He's only where he's at because he's a jock. He's an NCAA wrestling champ and his brother is the head coach of one of the top high school wrestling programs in Ohio. Look around the country and you'll find a lot of Republicans holding office who were Hollywood or sports stars. And the Republicans always make this leap of logic that if he's good at sports or acting, he'll be good in a political office, too.

Thank you so much for posting these clips. That 2nd one just blew me away...I mean how many congress people have we watched, stand up and speak so eloquently against all odds (meaning the establishment)?
