Republican Establishment Still Can’t Stop the Trump Hate Train

The Republican Party doesn’t seem to understand that they helped create the conditions within their own party that allowed for the rise of Donald Trump. And now as they attempt to get rid of him, they’re finding out that their base actually believes the same things that he does. This has created a massive dilemma for the GOP.

Ring of Fire’s Farron Cousins discusses this with attorney Howard Nations.

Why hasn't this happened to Trump if the "establishment" doesn't want him?

According to 538, Rubio's voters peel off this way in some poll(s) he looked at
60% Cruz
15% Trump
25% won't vote

I had seen some polls that supported something like that. Cruz or Rubio alone, head to head, would beat Trump.

So with that change, I redistributed Rubio's vote Trump gets combined with the votes he already got, about 43% of the electorate (for Trump, Cruz, & Kasich plus Rubio's distributed votes).

It would have swung five states to Cruz: AR, MO, DC, KY & LA. (I gave 10% of Cruz-Rubio's votes to Kaich, leaving Trump with 20%)

If you project 43% for Trump through the proportional primaries and give him the winner take all north east blue states he seems to be comfortably leading, he falls a little short even winning California (172 delegates) and he's behind Cruz there with a high latino population (37%).

Probably too many variables to be absolutely certain but I'd say the chances of Trump clinching before the convention are not great. Most of the balance of primaries are closed so Dems won't be able to a lot to change that - though they could help some.

that they find a Republican fascist (or near fascist) leading for their nomination. I guess they have not noticed that FOX News, corporate America, Koch brothers, and radical right wingers have been moving this nation toward fascism for several years. The politicians were busy dancing with the radicals and taking their money.

w/Palin nomination, the GOP establishment has no one but themselves to blame for paving the way to Trump.
