Sanders whomped Clinton in Idaho (by 78%!) and in Utah (by 80%!!) and got 15 more delegates than she did, because the huge wins in those two states compensated for the his loss (he got 40%) in AZ (amidst widespread vote suppression). (He nevertheless got delegates in AZ, too, for the total of 15.)
A great night for Sanders, all in all! And he made the key advance of gaining in delegates, not falling further behind.
Can he still win the nomination? Absolutely! Not an easy task at all, but this has been an "impossible" campaign from Day 1, with a burden of Establishment-inflicted handicaps that would daunt Seabiscuit. And still it keeps going. Why? Because he's right on every issue, including running an unprecedented fundraising effort of millions of small donors and NO superpacs, no corporate money, no billionaires. Because this and his people-oriented platform resonates with people, once they hear about it. And because of his amazing energy and that of his volunteers and staff. They have to overcome almost total black-holing by the Corrupt Media. Internet, word-of-mouth, big rallies (30,000 in San Diego!), fervent volunteers and the beauty of his message are what they have to counter that emptiness in the 'news'--and the campaign just keeps going!
Yup, Seabiscuit!
