The Libya Gamble:Inside Hillary Clinton’s Push for War & the Making of a Failed State - Democray Now

Published on Mar 3, 2016

http://democracynow.org - The New York Times has published a major two-part exposé titled "The Libya Gamble" on how then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton pushed President Obama to begin bombing Libya five years ago this month. Today, Libya is a failed state and a haven for terrorists. How much should Hillary Clinton be blamed for the crisis? We speak to journalist Scott Shane of The New York Times.

Our standard solution to a failed state is to bomb the snot out of it. This should work out great in Syria, as long as we don't accept too many refugees. Once we reduce the population by killing one third and forcing another third to flee, we can hang around for ten years or so and build schools, water treatment plants, etc. to replace all the stuff we destroyed, and that will provide Halliburton, Brown Root, etc. with lots of nice no-bid contracts. Everybody wins! Well, except those who die. OK maybe those who flee. Perhaps those who lose their farms, businesses, etc. The taxpayers, of course. But everybody who is invested wisely wins, and that's the important thing, because they will make generous campaign contributions to elect more Democrats willing to start and fund the next bogus war.
