The Tyler news program needs to be taken to task for this idiocy.

I can prove it too
Have you had a tidal wave while that rock was outside?
If not... put it back

That'll keep you busy.
BTW: I find the occasional surprise. Just the other day I found some peacock quartz.

(23,156 posts)It seems that modern geology has its roots in people who were sincerely trying to prove the reality of Noah's flood. Those early geologists honestly thought they'd prove the Flood. Instead, they founded the science of geology.
The book is The Rocks Don't Lie by David R. Montgomery, and is utterly fascinating.

(21,046 posts)There is a branch of the University of Texas at Tyler where they have something called a "geology department".
There are professors that teach about fossils called "Paleontologists".
They could have called one of those people. But, but, but, god planted fossils to MISLEAD us!!! If they find out you are not a particular approved form of Christian, they will tell you you're going to hell, and tell you to please move out of Texas, even if you're a native. They can't STAND anyone who is not a robot like they are. Or anyone who thinks truth is found in science.
This is where Louie Gohmert is from. GAK. I've even seen a weatherman on Channel 19, I believe, do the weather forecast and start chuckling about global warming because it was snowing.
This idiot is a meteorologist who allegedly took calculus and all that stuff and doesn't believe in global warming?
