Oh, dear... I loved Patty Duke, and as I recall, she spent much time post 60's and 70's era television trying to be so public about herself.

She has been an inspiration to multitudes, including me, as one of my children is bi-polar. Patty has blessed the world with her talent and compassion. Her legacy will never dim. May her family find peace and comfort as they deal with her loss.

My oldest sister is bi-polar. She has had such a tragic life, and her years on medication made her a walking zombie. She has been off her meds for the past several years, and she is a recluse, and she has locked herself and her spineless husband away in their house and are totally cut off from her family and ours. It's such a sad, tragic existence.

She, Patty, was such a brave person to speak out on her illness. Stigma...the biggest hurdle.

I never knew that she had this going on.

And not having seen her in a hundred years, it's odd to see her aged. But, that voice...so distinctive.

Thank you for posting.
