I love classical music more than any art form, and it all started back in college with Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini. I bought this four-album set of Rachmaninoff mostly because the cover was impossibly romantic looking (figured there must be something good in there) and was blown away by just about all of it, especially the Rhapsody (which was a late-in-the-day composition for him). I would have people over and we'd be listening to the B52s and I'd say, "ok, now listen to THIS stuff!" Safe to say not everyone "got" it. Still love it to death.
He is buried near my home in Valhalla, NY. Beautiful resting spot.

Some of the most technically demanding music but never for the sake of just showmanship...
