(24,010 posts)...sowing more division among us, undermining Clinton and shoving Sanders to the side (the one who must win California for this scenario to start playing out).
Also, Doug Schoen is a scumbag, who did disreputable, lying things in Venezuela on behalf of the rightwing opposition to Hugo Chavez. And Schoen could just be getting himself on TV here by saying outrageous things.
But a much more reputable political analyst and investigative journalist, Robert Parry, of Consortium News, agrees with him. And so does Carl Bernstein (Watergate reporter).

And I agree with the drift of what he's saying. I quote Parry (who quotes Schoen and Bernstein) in an OP here, about keeping DU open for criticism of Clinton and discussion of alternative candidates through the convention.

I do think Clinton's campaign is in trouble, not even counting what the FBI may do. John Kerry's OIG report is damaging enough. Clinton has terrible judgement and put national security at risk with her private email server. And she couldn't even cover her ass, which I think a president should be able to do. She thought she'd "wiped" her emails off her private, insecure server, and was mistaken. The FBI recovered them. It's gotten so that "untrustworthy" is her middle name.
Bernie Sanders shows no sign of going away. This isn't well-known (because unreported) but Sanders won Oregon by 67% of the vote--a blowout victory. And two million new voters have registered to vote in CA, most of them young voters, most of them Democrats. Sanders is barnstorming California, attracting thousands of people to dozens of rallies, with amazing energy and commitment. He will likely win California and he may win it big.
Meanwhile, Clinton continues to sink in polls vs. Trump, while Sanders is holding strong vs. Trump. And Clinton's trustworthy and likability ratings continue to be dismal, almost as low as Trump's, while Sanders are very high.
Sanders really ought to be the nominee! He has no "baggage." He has accumulated no wealth. He is well liked. Young people and independents flock to him. He won't give up. And he beats Trump.
The current Democratic Party establishment would cheat him out of the nomination if they could, in a scenario in which Clinton becomes unviable. I don't think Joe Biden would do a dirty trick like that, but he might agree if wasn't a dirty trick, if Sanders agreed.
That establishment has managed to saddle us with the worst candidate ever, as a frontrunner. And it's quite possible they will be forced to admit it and act to do something about it.
