SCantiGOP
(13,869 posts)You say the Supers haven't voted yet. They have declared how they intend to vote. The hysteria that hits this board for two days when one super delegate switches to Sanders shows how rare that is.
Reality: They have already told you how they are going to vote !

(42 posts)You are 100% right. Hillary will be the winner with Super Delegates before any primary. Massive election fraud and voter suppression In Brooklyn, NY 90,000 Democrats were not allowed to vote. Only on local media has it been reported. Under investigation to this day. I F YOU CALL THIS WINNING COUNT ME OUT.
metroins
(2,550 posts)Every election fraud that you think happened, give it to Bernie.
He still loses.
He lost in the beginning due to incompetent campaign management by disregarding the southern high delegate states. Hillary won them by such high margins and we use proportional delegates.
So give him every thing you want to claim that happened, Bernie still loses because of incompetence.

Ignoring high delegate southern states and focusing on low delegate northern states is incompetence.
I'm not sure who chose the strategy, but I wouldn't hire them again.

He had 10 months to mount a campaign in the high delegate southern states, his campaign ignored them. They chose to go after low delegate states.
It was an incompetent strategy. Obama beat Hillary in 2008 and nobody knew him, she isn't unbeatable.

(2,550 posts)Bernies been a career politician for 30ish years, if he was planning to run for president you'd think he could've done something to get name recognition earlier.
Bernie lost in early March, there's no two ways about it.
It was an incompetent strategy, Obama (2008) was at a bigger disadvantage than Bernie because he'd spent less time in office. The difference is, Obama had proper leadership and management skills along with a winning strategy.
Hillary learned from Obama, focused on high delegate states and spent almost no money in states that don't matter.
This cannot be spun, Bernies campaign made a fatal flaw by choosing an incompetent strategy.
SheilaT
(23,156 posts)much more than a year ago. Let alone eight or ten years ago.
He went from almost zero name recognition, to keeping Hillary from clinching the nomination months ago, as we were all told would happen.
Think a bit longer about who incredibly incompetent she must be to go from being ahead by 60 points or more, to just barely getting enough delegates -- and ONLY if the unpledged Super delegates are included --- on the last day of the primary season. Well, DC does vote next week, but they really won't count.
Plus, there's still the entire thing with the cute little home server she had, and all those emails. Were I a Republican operative of any kind, and wanted to destroy Hillary and totally screw over the Democratic Party, I'd make sure that the most damaging information connected to that gets held back until about September. Which is exactly what this delay in the entire FBI investigation feels like: delaying and delaying until the party is stuck with her, then pulling the rug out.
larkrake
(1,674 posts)seeing the corruption accellerate within the party is what motivated him. Hillbots credit him with ambition. If he had ever been ambitious, he would not have been an Indy.
Obama wanted to be President, he is an ambitious politition, Bernie never was ambitious- he is concerned. He is not "me", he is "we", in other terms, he is a democratic socialist. He has said this since he ran for mayor and has proven truthful. He has never put himself first and never will.
I'm sorry but no.
The previous poster has some merit, but your post has none. He is ambitious, it is not "we" but it is "he" with him.
Look into his past dealings, you'll find plenty of fodder for the cannon, look into Jane's past, look into family making money off his campaigns and the ridiculous spending this campaign went to Devine et al. The Italy trip funded by campaign. There's dirt to be found.
The primaries are over, so there's no reason to bring up negative statements, you can Google them if you want to really see he's not that pure. Not Pure At all.
I know Hillarys negatives, you should have learned about your candidates.
passiveporcupine
(8,175 posts)that they had no reason to take the time to get to know him. They were happy with Clinton. So they didn't even care or pay attention to his ads (and he did run ads).

(6,278 posts)This sounds like a concession that Sanders' ideas are superior and/or more in tune with the people, if you explain his trailing Clinton not to being the lesser candidate but by an appeal to "incompetent campaign management."
Rarely do I see serious arguments that Clinton has the better ideas or would be a better president - it's just "face it, your guy lost" in a system tailor-made to deliver the nomination to Hillary. It would be nice to see a more positive message about Hillary rather than a horserace-level critique of the Sanders campaign.

(14,173 posts)I've asked the same thing and gotten "I've explained plenty of times already in other threads I don't need to do it again.." or just ignored.
It can't be that difficult. I'll help them:
She would break the ultimate glass ceiling!
She has more experience at high level positions ie..State Department
She has a tougher position on gun manufacturers
She has a great partner who's been there before and we'd get two for one
She's been assailed mercilessly for years and deserves to show them all what's what!
okay I threw that last one in.
There are some legitimate reasons.
Its just that there is nothing in her platform that excites a Bernie supporter. Bernie's talking about some very real fundamental changes in the Democratic Party and also push hard for other social benefits for the whole country that are already passe in most countries. Work on election finance reform. Appointing a justice so that Citizens United can be defeated. I'm not positive Hillary is a huge foe of Citizens United.
And no, Bernie Sanders as President would probably not fulfill all his campaign suggestions. but he may a few of them. And he would open the conversation on the other issues he has raised. He would not be as shy of the bully pulpit as his predecessor seemed to be. In short he would move the country forward progressively into the future in a noticeable way.
Hillary Clinton would represent the status quo. And maybe even more hawkish than Obama. Her ties to the corporate elites financially is troubling. But yes, she definitely does have some positives.
Nitram
(22,791 posts)the primary delegates and the people who elected them. You've heard tons of serious arguments, but you won't even listen to them because you know better.
Blanks
(4,835 posts)He pointed out that as Alaska governor her budget was a small percentage of what he was managing running his presidential campaign (in 2008).
I point this out for a reason: if a candidate has great ideas, but doesn't have the management skills to see their ideas through, it's not much better than 'no ideas'.
If Sanders can't run a campaign competently, how can he be expected to competently run the executive branch of the federal government. An acknowledgment that he had "incompetent campaign management" is, in my opinion, as damning as admitting that he has good ideas, but he wouldn't be a good president.

(13,029 posts)even if he loses, his supporters will call it a "win"? Or say that Hillary MUST have cheated, because everyone THEY know voted for Sanders? Or that the Democratic vote was suppressed, but magically only for Sanders voters? Or because people who go to rallies and cheer loud must necessarily turn out in greater numbers on election day than those who don't?

(108,976 posts)were first introduced, the Associated Press and the rest of the media has called the Presidential race as soon as a candidate has reached a majority of pledged and super delegates (which the AP determines by contacting them -- not by waiting till the convention.)
Yes, hundreds of supers technically could change their minds, in which case the media would report this as a huge story, without any precedent in electoral history.

I am sure she wants this primary over before she actually makes news getting called in by the FBI but it is going to happen and it is an investigation.... it is dangerous for people not to recognize that or not to even care..
pnwmom
(108,976 posts)That doesn't mean she became a target of the investigation. She could have but there is no evidence that she did, and the FBI hasn't said that she did. And no grand jury has been brought in to hear any witnesses.

(51,550 posts)He had a campaign advisor who was leading a religious conference at Vatican City get him an invitation to the conference, not a meeting with the Pope. Then he stalked the Pope for a handshake, waiting in the wee hours of the morning in the hallway of the Pope's apartment. The Pope obliged him as a "courtesy" but refused pictures. The whole thing was an embarrassing episode for his campaign and backfired as an attempt to pander for the Catholic vote.
Now the FEC wants to know why Sanders' campaign paid for 10 of Sanders' relatives to tag along for the Roman Holiday, where the cost of the chartered Boeing 767 alone topped $600,000. Ask Virginia's ex-governor, Bob O'Donnell, how that story ends.
