As a kid conservation was a necessary life style for budgets. It became a habit. As a hiker-camper, everything was low impact on the environment. I taught my kids and the scout troop this.

I wear my socks and jeans to a two micron thickness before I shop for replacements. I'm not cheap, just frugal. I abhor conspicuous consumption.

If people think from desparation I only see they make a temporary change.
