Even though the media has decided to cease all mention of the disaster in Flint, Michigan, the water crisis is STILL going on. Right now, people in the city of Flint are struggling to find drinkable water. There have been no real solutions from the local or state government. Ring of Fires Farron Cousins discusses this.

(2,574 posts)Maddow should mention it every day, and so should our Dems running for national and Michigan offices.
There was a rather revolting diversion of the Flint crisis story into "there are hundreds of Flint's in our country." That old"oh well, it's everywhere, what can you do..." mentality.
Flint is not the same as cities with aging water infrastructure or even water supplies poisoned by fracking.
This was a very deliberate crime by a state governor and his unelected city management, to change the source of water to an unhealthful source and refuse to even pay minimally for additives that might have lessened the damage. Months, years of complaints went unanswered, thousands of children irreparably damaged. All the while those citizens received grossly inflated bills for this poisoned water.
Flint was a very specific case of willful negligence/harm to a specifically minority community by a state government.
That these people still do not have water and that politicians and media have ceased mentioning this outrage is an outrage.

They will get all the attention from the media and the presidential campaigns, and all the promises.
Everyone else won't matter.
