11 billion is the amount they pay for social security and Medicare withheld from their wages for which they receive zero benefit I get social security and Medicare and I greatly appreciate that they have helped pay for my benefits. But they also pay sales taxes, gas taxes, real estate taxes as part of the rent they pay. Because they tend to be young healthy workers their medical costs we pay for are small. Our costs to educate their children is a profitable investment because the skills learned make those children productive taxpayers later. The U.S. invented free public education and other countries copied us because their businesses could not otherwise compete against our more productive workers.money spent soon education generates a huge profit. Some workers make a bit less from the competition from illegal workers but on the whole they make us richer.
