The 25 countries whose citizens were designated for participation in NSEERS were: Afghanistan, Algeria, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Egypt, Eritrea, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, North Korea, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sudan, Syria Tunisia, United Arab Emirates, and Yemen. It was changed to only track males 16 and older after a few years.
People who think this is new are mistaken. Sadly, there are plenty of Democrats who gladly voted for this. The Obama administration let it expire as it was generally perceived to be a waste of time and money and to be ineffective.
