2. 25th amendment provides mechanism to remove a Pres:

Section 4. Whenever the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive departments or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall immediately assume the powers and duties of the office as Acting President.

Thereafter, when the President transmits to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives his written declaration that no inability exists, he shall resume the powers and duties of his office unless the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive department or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit within four days to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office. Thereupon Congress shall decide the issue, assembling within forty-eight hours for that purpose if not in session. If the Congress, within twenty-one days after receipt of the latter written declaration, or, if Congress is not in session, within twenty-one days after Congress is required to assemble, determines by two-thirds vote of both Houses that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall continue to discharge the same as Acting President; otherwise, the President shall resume the powers and duties of his office.[3]

so how long until there's a will to neuter trump?

i have confidence in djt being able to irritate, annoy, antagonize and piss off anyone and everyone, including his own party.

Senators and congressmen are not limited to an 8 year career; they are in it for the long haul. Preferably, they want to warm those seats till retirement. Why should they hitch their wagon to a lead balloon that is widely discredited and deeply unpopular? Party loyalty only goes so far---when it threatens to compromise the ol' paycheck, it is time to heave-ho. GOPers got rid of Nixon for far less than this guy is already exhibiting. He is clearly not in his right mind. They will not go down with the presidential ship.

you can bet the GOP will "take him out", blame some group (e.g. Muslims) on it, curtail civil liberties even more from a willing populace, and demonize and go after any groups (e.g. liberals) that object. And Putz becomes our third unelected Rethuglican President. And deeper into the fascist hole we go.

You can see the shit storm it'd be. Of course it's a remoter possibility than a negotiated peace in Syria. But still fun to think about.

Now back to the resistance.

I think:

(1) Senate and House go along with Trump as nominee with understanding they can impeach him pretty much whenever they want.
(2) Trump is Trump, impeachment + conviction, Mike Pence (establishment Repub) becomes President
(3) Profit!

has been the plan all along.

Keith knows tRumpf's paranoia well. He's just planting seeds that tRumpf can't trust those around him. Make him even more delusionally paranoid, looking for shadows, help to drive him even more over the top and unelectable in 4 years. Maybe?
