1. It was fairly obvious something was up

during convention times, when on message boards and discussion forums,
posters sometimes showed up arguing with truly tangential evidence for
pro-Trump positions and the posters struggled with the English language.
For example, one such poster, defending Melania's convention speech,
stated that Michelle Obama had actually stolen her own original speech
from a book published in 2006 or 2007. When it was pointed out that
it was absurd that no one had detected this in 11 years, the poster
dropped the subject and left. It left one scratching their head at the time,
but now it seems obvious what was going on.
