Dennis Hastert Wants Sex-Abuse Accuser to Return Hush Money
by Tracy Connor
Jan 19, 2017..NBC News.
Jailed former House Speaker Dennis Hastert says a man who accused him of sexual abuse should return $1.7 million in hush money because he broke his silence by talking to the feds.
The demand was made in Hastert's response to a lawsuit filed by the accuser, known only as Individual A, who is trying to recoup the rest of the money the politician promised him.
"To the extent any contract existed between plaintiff [Individual A] and defendant [Hastert], plaintiff breached that contract," Hastert's lawyers wrote.
"Plaintiff's breach of conduct resulted in damages to defendant and plaintiff is accordingly required to return $1.7 million to defendant."

(241 posts)at the very least he has made himself into a witness. He may also have made himself into a suspect. He should no longer be involved in the investigation. Imagine if this was a mafia investigation and the law enforcement official ran to the mob boss to tell him that he has been under surveillance.

(1,295 posts)because he comes from an ethnic enclave -- a population of Portuguese/Azorean dairy farmers in California's Central Valley -- which also produced my gf's mother. She probably has a whole bunch of relatives who are big fans of his. So when he does stuff like try to undermine our national security to get a base moved from Britain to the Azores, that hits close to home for us. It doesn't help that this takes place right at the time when my SO is getting into exploring her family roots on the maternal side, and we've just been invited to a big family gathering close to Nunes' district.
