(4,973 posts)We have a local rush wannabe on our right-wing talk radio station that made a huge issue out of the holster comment. Then when the listening audience brought up the grab em by the pussy comment, he tried to deflect it with some really lame logic. Bunch of hypocrites.

(63 posts)How is an act any gender or orientation can perform specifically targeting and offensive to the gay community?
It seems to me Colbert is just making a statement about the kind of power relationship that exists between Trump and Putin, not a comment on gay sex.
Where am I wrong?

(8,311 posts).... "c***sucker", which this was a variant of, is considered both homophobic and potentially insulting to both gay people and even women.
It also explains the crazy guy at this office I worked in who would hump the guys there in the head.
Though I personally think the problem is more to do with society seeing aggressive male sexual prowess as an indicator of potence or strength, the issue that comes up is that the person in the more receptive position is the one being insulted (the insult is -er, not -ee) for being less-than.
When it's Trump being "less-than" I don't care so much, but if we won't call Ann Coulter another word similar to her last name because it has implications for women, even if she herself doesn't give two shits or a prudish fuck about women's rights....
Edit to clarify -- yes, it was a reference to dominance. The problem is that somehow society equates having a penis in your mouth as weakness, and insults that use that metaphor also carry that connotation.

(63 posts)Obviously, that's not a proper relational dynamic for two world leaders and hence that's why it's being used in a joke. It's a comment on Trump's submission to Putin.
But I don't think it's commenting negatively on situations where there is no selling out of one's self or independence.
The joke is commenting on the absurdity of the degree Trump will go to stay in Putin's favor.
