I was on the Back To The Furure ride at MGM 20 years ago. It was pretty cool. I imagine the tech is better today.

(5,522 posts)It's not virtual reality though. VR puts you into the environment, You need some headgear with your own individual projectors. I work with full flight simulators and the only time I was a little scared was when a motion system started glitching while we were unbuckled. These people seemed genuinely frightened. I've been to Disney World and rode all the simulators. They actually hardly move at all compared to flight simulators. Plus most were not completely in sync with the projected animation. That could induce nausea but not fright. There has to be more to it.

(5,522 posts)In all those years I have very little flying time with motion and visual for kicks. I'm usually working on a design or debugging a problem. But, it's the best job in the world.
