He is anti-war, that's important to him, yet he voted for the guy who said, "What's the good of nukes if you don't use them?"

He's an idiot. He holds no beliefs, has no political ideology. Most things come down to money, which he doesn't talk about. Somewhere in his thinking, there is a 'I can do better financially under Trump" though process, and that's why he voted for him. But who knows.

...he's probably too busy swigging beer and watching WWF rasslin to have much time for politics or how this here government thingy really works. It's so much easier for him to be told what to do, how to think and who to vote for than to waste his precious time critically thinking about anything other than maybe his NFL fantasy league. He's so easy to manipulate and propagandized, a primary school kid could push his buttons. He's thinking those who do think about politics are a bunch of elitist snobs anyway. The big broadcast media outlets got this president elected. Zero coverage of climate change. Tons of coverage of tweets and rallies and emails.

If we want America to avoid autocracy, we have to fix our media.

minimal coverage of dump's criminal associates, mobbed-up status, shady business dealings, history of flaming failures, history of stiffing contractors, lack of psychological suitability for the job, etc. etc. etc. ad infinitum. The information was out there, from David Cay Johnston, the guy who "co"-wrote Art of the Deal, and numerous NY journalists who had covered dump for decades.

The snooze mediduh CHOSE to ignore or minimize such information, in order to make dump appear to be legitimate presidential material. Not only because he was good for ratings but also because the network higher-ups KNEW he would do a 180 from his "populist" fakery and actually rule for the plutocrats that the stockholders represent.
