Sen. Sanders: Trump 'Has To Be Exposed For The Fraud He Is' - Morning Joe

Published on Jul 13, 2017
Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-VT., says Trump's policies are the most destructive in our lifetime, hopes the GOP health care bill can be defeated and says the US is less divided than people think.

I agree with his views. I find him to be the most inspirational speaker in office right now. And his words have appeal to many, even some of Trump's base.
Democrats can't compete with Republicans when it comes to fundraising; they should keep emphasizing that the Republicans have become the money party to benefit the wealthy to the detriment of most Americans. Republican Party has become the party of greed, and Republicans (at least the ones in power now) have chosen tax cuts over health care, the environment, public education, roads/bridges and other infrastructure, etc.

support him just as he is. Why should he change, his bank account is expanding, even as he golfs at our expense. His "brand" is doing great, according to his idiot son (the older one, the Russia loving one). Ivanka is getting patents all over the world, for her stolen designs. How great is THAT?

Out of his mouth reveals his ignorance and inability to relate to humans. I understand that he only cares about his equally ignorant base, but I was encouraged to hear today that even that deluded minority no longer supports him "as much."

And kudos to Bernie for getting out and spreading the word! Just following his travels makes me tired!

Some having to do with raising minimum wage, fixing the ACA, infrastructure investment. Democrats actually implemented regulations, they just needed to be tightened up and in some cases fixed. Republicans once again obstructed these efforts. Just this week Yellen warned about Trumps regulation rollbacks risking yet another crisis, but apparently "democrats" have been talking about "deregulating" Wall Street. It's a campaign talking point Sanders won't quit, regardless of facts.

as he described where the Dem party has gone wrong. He then said that things got better under Obama, but the problems go back 40 years. And historically, yeah, there was a bunch of dereg under Bill Clinton.

tired addressing that on this board.

are we in 1997? or 2017?

we have more regulations today thanks to Democrats. Clever but false arguments won't change that fact.

The question was "where do you think the Dems have gone wrong" and he chose to answer that, going back 40 years, Dems have not been sufficiently responsive to the needs of rural and working class America, and have been too responsive to the needs of their big ticket donors. You can disagree, but no one should be surprised that that is what Bernie Sanders believes, it's what he's been saying forever.

The exchange is from 5:44 to 6:50 if you want to double check exactly what he said.

I know why he wants to bring up the same thing over and over again. He could have easily said - we need to strengthen Dodd frank , ..and " turn their back on rural America and the working class"? When these same areas he has in his mind that democrats supposedly ignored are mostly run by republicans whose governors and state legislatures resist liberal policies? I am not saying democrats cannot be criticized but sanders is riffing on the same "republicans and democrats Are the same " meme as if there is any sort of justifiable equivocation to be made between the two when there isn't - and yeah he's been saying it forever, he has not changed his rhetoric.

That's true, but Sanders is an optimist, who, like Dean, believes in a 50-state strategy, rather than in writing off those areas as simply not winnable. I understand that not all Dems agree that that is a wise use of resources, but it is what he believes.

Obama and Warren got us the Financial Protection Agency which repubs are trying to defund and scrap as Trump drains the swamp of Wall street regulations. Hillary finally came around on the issue also in 2017
