"never say you do not like something until you try it" so I can not say anything bad. It is good that it helps with injuries also but it upsets me that they are willing to hurt them in order to get it. Yeah, they put them in a so called nice bath but that still does not take away that they purposely hurt them.

I've developed a tradition of including recipes for whatever group we're discussing in class as a handout. (You'd be surprised at what gets turned into a taco.) But I deliberately exclude anything with a high cruelty component (beyond just killing the animal), and I've had to put disclaimers if the animal in question is highly endangered.

It's for entertainment purposes - I don't expect my students to actually make jellied moose nose or lamprey pie - but it's taught me things I'd rather not know. Like the culinary qualities of the hagfish.

I can't waste my time in my upper-level courses.

I do, however, cover the interrelationships between science, the media, and politicians in my lower-level courses. I try to be even-handed, but reality is reality.
