Dear MSM, Stop Parroting The Bulls#!t About Trump's 'Adoption' Meeting.

If I ever hear the word 'adoption' used in association with Trump Jr.'s meeting with Veselnitskaya again I'm going to puke. I know the Trump shills repeat the word every time the meeting is mentioned, but you should be calling them on it. It wasn't about adoption, it was about reversing the Magnitsky Act.

Look, it's very simple:

1. Putin runs a criminal enterprise, stealing hundreds of billions from the Russian economy, and then giving it to his associates to launder by investing things like New York real estate.

2. The Magnitsky Act allows the U.S. to freeze these assets, thus kicking Putin's criminal enterprise right in the balls. (He froze American adoptions of Russian orphans as retaliation for it.)

3. Vaselnitskaya was offering to help Trump win the election (using Russian spy material on Clinton) IN EXCHANGE for Trump reversing the Magnitsky Act if he won. Quid pro quo.

If adoption was mentioned at the meeting, it was only mentioned as a plausible cover story for the meeting...which Trump and Kushner obviously paid attention to, and USED.

Fareed Zakaria (best journalist on CNN, IMHO) does an excellent interview with Bill Browder, who was the man behind the Magnitsky Act. Too bad all the other reporters obviously never watch his show.

Kushner had to "re-re-revise" his SF-86 form.

Once it was out that the meeting happened, then came the abortion story, followed by email trail release showing that the meeting was really about getting dirt on the Clinton campaign, followed by even more lies about how many people and who attended the meeting.

In other words, lies all around from the trump campaign participants.

The part I find MOST amusing is that Don Jr's story is that he eagerly scampered to the meeting hoping to collude with Russian spies...and then walked away disappointed when he allegedly found out the meeting was just about adoption. In what universe does THAT story make your actions look BETTER?

The Russian ex-agent at the meeting says the Russian lawyer left a folder of info about DNC finances and other sensitive information.

Follow on from the rest. Otherwise they'd be justifiably accused of fake news.

Perhaps even a special-needs infant or a child from another country.

What a hypocrite!

7. There's an overlooked aspect of this "adoption" business

I agree that when Junior and Veselnitskaya speak of "adoptions," they're probably using coded language. The real purpose of the meeting, I am convinced, was to cement a deal to remove the Magnitsky act. Bill Browder's many YouTube interviews are essential viewing for those who want a fuller background of how the act came to be.

Nevertheless, there is an ominous, overlooked side to all this talk about adopting Russian orphans. I think it deserves further investigation.

Many Russian orphans were brought into this country and kept in orphanages run by a "Christian" religious cult founded by one Bill Gothard. His main ultra-fundamentalist organization is called Advanced Training Institute, or ATI; he also heads up something called the Institute in Basic Life Principles. If memory serves, Gothard is now 80 years old.

This sect has long had strong political connections. You may have learned about this group previously due to its links to Mike Huckabee and the Duggars. Sonny Perdue, Trump's Agriculture Secretary, also came out of this movement.

It shouldn't take you much Googling to learn that this cult is genuinely dangerous -- moreso, in my estimation, than (say) Scientology. There are several websites set up to allow survivors to tell their stories. Pretty harrowing stuff.

Gothard's cult established a presence in Russia during the waning days of the USSR. That's when he set up a system whereby Russian kids would be brought to America and placed in orphanages in Indiana and Illinois. Again, some deep-dish Googling will confirm what I'm saying here.

There are persuasive stories about the abuse, exploitation and brainwashing the American kids placed in the care of Gothard's religious institutions. One can only imagine the fate of Russian orphans -- kids without families, transported thousands of miles away from their home country.

Please understand: I'm not leaping to conclusions, and I'm not trying to create a scenario for which I do not yet have evidence. I honestly don't know if anyone who attended that meeting in Trump Tower had any awareness of Bill Gothard and his long history of importing Russian orphans. But I know this: American adoption of Russian orphans is now a common topic of discussion -- and for a quarter of a century, most Russian orphans entering this country did so via Bill Gothard's organization.

My gut tells me that this means something. If your gut is sending a different message -- fine. I understand. I'm not looking for an argument, and I'm fully aware that I may be wrong. Still, perhaps some of you will feel motivated to research the matter further.

These benign descriptors are very strange in light of the White House attacks on media everyday.

What kind of a chicken shit response is this?

It's very dissonant cognitively!
