Then look at the wall street punk with a BILLION dollars in his pocket, whining that he has it tough.

(1,201 posts)You just couldn't con Obama with this nonsense. People lost millions collectively through wallstreet and Banksters harmful antics while these hedge fund managers walked away with billions yet they feel cheated or put upon? I guess it's because their greed know no bounds and always want more. His secretary is taxed at 39 % and he complains about 15% and 20% on capital gains. There is no honest job worth getting paid a billion a year.

(25,848 posts)Personally, I'd be happy to set it at one million dollars a year, but I'll give sympathy to all those wealthy schmucks out there and allow 10 or even 20 million a year. No matter what the source of income: capital gains, deferred interest, salary, stock options, whatever. Everything over the maximum amount (and hey! even make it 50 or 75 million a year) goes straight into programs that help the poor: Medicaid, Medicare, Section 8 housing. Stuff like that.

(9,663 posts)...between the Tanzaniac and his predecessor, I don't know what would. This complex, multi-faceted response, while staying on point, illustrates on so many levels just how far the current potus has diminished the office in only six months. Damn, I'd give most anything to have Obama back to patch, pump out and right our current ship of state. Good find, Don Viejo and thanks!

(6,911 posts)I prefer a president that explains things to me rather than a president that tries to sell me. By offering a live comparison, Trump has elevated Obama's claim to being one of the greatest presidents of all time.

(4,973 posts)using Trump as a comparison is pretty far-fetched. That's like comparing JFK to Dan Quayle.

(28,787 posts)i saw a clip of his lovefest yesterday and found it to be more of an expression of greed as well. he's a slick symbol of a lot of what's wrong with america. people running it who don't give a flying fuck about it.

(22,791 posts)most rational genius in the world. Of course, Fugs Gnus never aired a word of this speech. If they had, they would have edited it to make Obama out to be a wild-eyed Marxist. And they certainly never reported it except perhaps to accuse quote a "very well-respected" hedge fund manager saying Obama was beating up Wall Street like a piñata.
We used to have a president.
